In period of Prithvi Narayan Shah distributed land to Rai and Limbu in Eastern part of Nepal.

 

Soil:

Alluvial Soil

-Found in Terai Region. River deposit soil and sand

-Very fertile 

-Best for sugarcane, tobacco.

-Rich in Lime, Potash, Phosphorous.

Lacurstrine Soil

-Found in Kathmandu Valley.

-Also called Taalaiya Soil

-Decayed vegetation

Sandy Gravel Soil

-Loose soil

-Found in Chure hills

-Best for Sal, sisau

Red Cateritic Soil

-Ozonized iron thus red

-Best for Millet, Maize

 

Forest:

Area of forest in Nepal: 46%

Divided in 5 groups.

Subtropical Forest Upto 1200m  
Temperate Deciduous Forest 1200-2100m  
Coniferous Forest 2100-3350m  
Alpine Forest 3350-5000m Large grass fields
Tundra Forest above 5000m Mosses/Lichen
